Program Details

This program welcomes families or caregivers with young children (suggested ages 0-5) to gather outside and get our feet muddy! Children can enjoy exploring while toddling, walking, or being carried along on a mini hike in the forest to a creek-side area. There we will circle for songs, stories, movement or crafts related to the season and local ecosystem. Week 1 - July 10 - Our friends the trees Songs, stories, and movements, plus a sensory activity, that make the trees come alive. Week 2 - July 17 - Minibeasts Songs, stories, and movements, plus a sensory activity, that connects us to the bugs that crawl, creep, and fly all around us. Week 3 - July 24 - Frogs, Bogs, Amphibians Songs, stories, and movements, plus an animal encounter with the slimy, hoppy animals that live on the edge of land and water. Week 4 - July 31 - Birds flying high Songs, stories, and movements plus a sensory activity, that bring the birds from way up high into view. Week 5 - August 7 - Meadow critters Songs, stories, and movements, plus a sensory activity, about furry little critters that dig, hide, and hop through our meadows. We will be outdoors, in a forest, in rain or shine. Our rhythm will include a short hike from the parking area. Strollers or wagons are welcome if they are good off-road, as the path is rough in spots with a mini creek crossing along the way. Bring a blanket to sit on. The creek is shallow, gentle and safe for splashing and wading. -------- This program is offered on a sliding scale and a 'pay what you can' format. Please reflect on which price best fits your family's financial position, and go ahead and sign up! $150, or 100% price covers expected materials and administrative costs, pays me a stipend for my time, and supports equity by offsetting the other payment options for families who need to pay less. $112, or 75% covers materials and administrative costs and pays me a stipend for my time. $75, or 50% covers materials and administrative costs. 'Pay what you can' is just like it sounds! If your family cannot afford the 50% rate right now, but you wish to participate in this program, select the "pay later" option and I will follow up via email so you can pay what you can in cash or Venmo.
